It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johnnie Mae " Hunter Goldsmith a loving and generous individual who brought warmth and light to all who knew her. Johnnie, who was born on November 22, 1943, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
Johnnie is survived by her children, who were at the center of her world: sons Tom (Pamela) Goldsmith, Leon (Rosetta) Goldsmith, Chris (Valarie) Goldsmith, Johnnie (Comenita) Goldsmith, Robert Goldsmith, all from Montgomery Alabama and Tommy Lee (Marie) Goldsmith, from Fort Deposit as well as daughters Betty (Melvin) Steiner, Ella (James) Goldsmith, Lashunda (Antonio) Robinson, Renee (Rickey) Jackson, and Diane (Tony) Goldsmith and Angie Goldsmith all from Montgomery Alabama . Mrs .Johnnie Mae also survived by her 36 grandkids and 54 great grand kids and devoted grand daughters Kimberly, Marchelle, Pamely BreBre ,Shania Tanja a host neices and nephews and a devoted nephew Larue Goldsmith 4 great great great grands and devoted friend Angie Newt She love for her family was boundless, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.
Johnnie was a devout woman who took solace and joy in her faith, and her favorite music was gospel. Her dedication to church and her love of gospel music helped to forge a strong sense of community and spirituality that she shared with her loved ones.
Known for her warm, prompt, polite, and loving personality, Johnnie left a lasting impact on those she encountered. She embodied the Golden Rule, doing unto others as she would have them do unto her, and imparted this valuable lesson to her family and friends. This philosophy was a testament to her unwavering kindness and her commitment to creating a world of understanding and empathy.
