Obituary for Jonathan Mark Turner
Jonathan Mark Turner died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Jonathan was born on February 14, 1982, in Huntsville, Alabama. He graduated from Virgil I. Grissom High School in Huntsville, in 2000, from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, in 2004, and from the Mississippi College of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, with J.D. and M.B.A. degrees, in 2009.
He married Lindsey Catherine Booth of Tuscaloosa in 2007. After he and Lindsey graduated from the Mississippi College of Law, they moved to Gainesville, Florida in 2010 to practice law. Jonathan was a real estate attorney at Scruggs, Carmichael, & Wershow, P.A.
He is survived by his wife, Lindsey Booth Turner, and his three children Lorelei Lake Turner, Lanier Everette Turner, and William Denver Turner. He is survived by his parents Jon D. and Nancy Turner, and by his four siblings Elizabeth Turner Falkenberg (Mark), Matthew William Turner (Amy), Jeffrey Daniel Turner (Ellen), and Margaret Virginia Turner. He is also survived by his parents-in-law Robert and Suzanne Booth, brother-in-law Barton Booth (Brooke), as well as eleven nieces and nephews.
Jonathan was a life-long athlete who excelled in multiple sports including competitive soccer and triathlons. He enjoyed his work as an attorney and treasured time with his wife and children. He considered Lindsey, Lorelei, Niery, and Denver his greatest blessings. They were his world, as evidenced by anyone who came into contact with him. He was loved dearly by all. He will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered as the absolute best husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM by Pastor David Chauncey at Westside Baptist Church, 10000 Newberry Road, in Gainesville on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Visitation will be available from 1:30-3 PM at Westside Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at Forest Meadows West, 700 NW 143rd Street, in Newberry. Pallbearers will be Matt Turner, Jeff Turner, Bart Booth, Curtis Head, Aaron Hall, Matt Urban, Brian Lampp, and James Osterhout. Honorary Pallbearers will by his Scruggs, Carmichael, and Wershow family, his Orangetheory family, his GSA family, his Branford City family, his YMCA family, his GACAR family, and his YPN family.
