Johnathan's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of Johnathan Robert Longtine, who passed away much too soon on October 7, 2023 at the young age of 33. He was born on September 4, 1990, to Bruce and Deborah Longtine in Channelview, TX. Johnathan was baptized in October 1990 at Grace Lutheran Church in Channelview Texas and graduated High School in 2008.

Johnathan lived his life with an adventurous spirit and an undeniable zest for life that will be remembered by many. He was a fearless explorer that was known to be hardheaded, yet his bravery was unparalleled. He was protective of those he loved, and he carried a goofy charm that lightened every room he entered, making it difficult to be upset with him ever. You just had to love his joyful personality and his ability to always see the positive no matter the circumstances.

Our loss is immeasurable, as we lost Johnathan much too soon. We know he is watching over us each day and we take comfort knowing he is happy and healthy in Heaven. The numerous shared memories and the love that everyone has shown for Johnathan means the world to us. We would love for you to share photos and memories here for all to see and remember.

Johnathan is survived by his daughter Lexcie Longtine; Lexcie’s mother Caiti Henderson; his parents, Deborah Longtine, Bruce (Linda) Longtine; his three sisters, Juanita Longtine (Chris Candelari), Danielle (Joseph) Rankin, and Hayli (Darren) Franke; his two brothers, Bruce “Boo” Longtine (Joey Beaty and Sam Davila) and Kristopher Longtine; his nieces and nephews, Fabianna Candelari, Chasity Rankin, Joseph (Madisyn) Rankin, Lane Franke and Jayden Longtine; great nephew Jaxsyn Rankin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Johnathan is predeceased by his grandparents, Bruce (Jeanette) Longtine and Alfred (Juanita) Daniel; his aunts, Renee Longtine and Cynthia Daniel; his uncle, Bruce Brown; and cousins, Ruben Legalley and Baby Boy Michael Hale.

We invite friends and family to join us as we celebrate his life and the unforgettable imprint he left on our lives. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 4, 2023 at the Flukinger Community Center, 16003 Lorenzo St, Channelview, TX 77530.  We will start to receive guests at 11:00 am for visitation. The service will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception at 2:00 pm.

This will allow us to remember Johnathan as he was: full of life, fearless, goofy, loving and forever young. While we mourn his unfortunate departure, we also celebrate the life of a man who was a free spirt and had a love for life like no other. Johnathan will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
