Background
Jonathan and I became friends during the time neither one of us really had a friend. We instantly connected and had a lot in common. On August 10th 2018, I received a call from Jonathan's mother who was frantic and asked me to lock up her house because she was on her way to the hospital where Jonathan was to be airlifted, because he he suddenly became paralyzed from the neck down. I didn't know what to think and sat impatiently for hours waiting to hear how Jonathan's condition was. I did research on all the possibilities and saw that it was possible four people to overcome paralysis and completely recover, I prayed Jonathan would also. The night of the incident paralyzed Jonathan, he was around several different people and Within those people, one of them is responsible for what happened to him there is no knowledge whether this happened intentionally or not. The doctors didn't really have a diagnosis for him just what they assumed his condition came closest to based on symptoms. Plasma freezes was the first procedure performed with hopes that he would recover from the paralysis. He was able to move his arms to a certain extent but not his fingers or his hands. Jonathan had a bit of a history of drug abuse but none of which can justify why he was sent home without any medications for pain which really affected him. Jonathan had been injected in his spine with bacteria from a person who has not yet been identified. Local police department did nothing to investigate what happened to him or question the woman why it took 5 hours before she finally called 911. At the injection site he began to get sores that later turned into missing pieces of Flesh and onset a stage 4 bed ulcer on his backside. Jonathan suffered excruciating pain daily. Getting him home health care took nearly a year and Jonathan passed before he could finally get a provider. Due to many errors made and documentation required it was impossible it seemed to get approval for health insurance. Jonathan spent 9 months in and out of hospitals only to be mistreated and unfairly cared for. When he finally got approved for healthcare , I was sure he would be okay . He never got a chance to get a provider with his condition worsening over time Jonathan passed away. Though we only knew each other knew each other for a year until his passing May 22nd 2019, Jonathan and I grew close and bonded a friendship like no other . 2 weeks before Jonathan's incident we had a mini birthday party for him and little did we imagine what was to come. Though we only spent little time together we messaged and talked on the phone a lot. Jonathan's mother is against cremation and Jonathan wanted to be buried. Once again we are in the struggle because of the financial hardship. So many individuals have claimed to be friends of Jonathan yet at his most vulnerable time no friends stood by his side in life or death. I am here today hoping that Jonathan can be laid to rest at peace and his mother can get closure. It is sad to think that he isn't able to have a memorial because of financial instability and so I reach out for my friend who am I really cared for.
