John's obituary
Jack Zembeck, age 79, of Henderson passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. He was born September 13, 1940, in New York City to the late John Francis Zembeck and Pauline Herbik Zembeck.
Jack was a graduate of Queens College, New York City; and he had completed all class work for a master’s degree in Business Administration at Baruch College, New York City. Jack also volunteered to serve two years in the U.S. Army.
Jack was a lifelong airline and travel enthusiast. His career was in the air cargo industry working for TWA, Frontier, National and America West airlines. For business and for pleasure, he traveled to over 119 countries, many of those multiple times. He had a genuine appreciation for other cultures and mostly ventured off the typical tourist path to explore the true nature of the countries he visited. Jack never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone whose attention he could capture. Wherever he was, he engaged people to learn where they were from and would share his own stories about travel to their hometown. He had long-lasting friends all over the world and would never hesitate to give them a ring out of the blue just to catch-up.
Jack was deeply devoted to his family and often told people that he lived for his kids and grandkids. He continually kept abreast of all their accomplishments and challenges, and was the best “life cheerleader” you could ask for. He had a truly supportive, affectionate and encouraging spirit.
Jack is preceded in death by his first wife Linda Diane Zembeck. Jack is survived by his wife Sharon Hutton Zembeck, his three children, two sons-in-law and six grandkids: Kristin Zembeck-England and husband Kent, their children Emily England-Pitchford, Nate Pitchford, and Grace England; Susan Looney and husband Ken, their children Hannah Looney and Paige Looney; and Erik Zembeck, his children Jack Zembeck and Courtney Zembeck.
Due to world events, a Celebration of Life service will be scheduled later this summer.
