Pops definitely had strong feelings about equality. He would tell me stories of his youth and what it was like for him and grandma as a biracial couple. I don't know if it was because of his personal experiences. But he would always remind us that there is nothing wrong with our differences. That it mattered more to treat eachother with kindness. Despite if others couldn't see things the same way. That just because it's popular beliefe or normal, doesn't make something right. He always treated people with respect and kindness every opportunity he got. Couldn't have asked for a better role model. Your missed Pops.
