John's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John "Woody" Woodman, beloved brother, father, and uncle, on January 26, 2025. Known affectionately as Woody to some but he mostly preferred John, he was born on December 4, 1963, he was a light in the lives of many and will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his sister Catherine Woodman, and his sons Andrew Woodman and Noah. His niece, Michelle and Angela also survives him. His mother, Twilla Cooper, predeceased him and we know she was there to welcome him with love. Also predeceased by his father Perry Woodman.

John was a man of many interests and had a taste for the simple pleasures in life; he had a lifelong love for pizza and a particular fondness for Pepsi. His favourite music was Led Zeppelin and in his free time, he delighted in playing games; the Xbox and Dominos being his preference. He also enjoyed watching TV, particularly when he could share those moments with friends and family.

John was a member of the swim team in his school years and held a fondness for the color blue. He was known by all for his humour and wittiness, always ready with a joke or a light-hearted comment to brighten the day.

Perhaps, one of the most significant aspects of John’s life is his passion for art. His love for drawing was more than just a hobby, it was a part of who he was. This artistic inclination shone brightly through the most in his sketches; his perspective and talent were evident on every piece of paper he touched.

John's legacy lies not just in his art, but also in the laughter and joy he brought to those around him. He taught us the value of humour and the power of a well-timed joke. His presence is irreplaceable, and he will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
