John came to mind today during a walk through the redwoods.  He talked about what was important in ministry and said it doesn’t matter how many people sit in the pews.  A better question is how many lives are healed.?  Since knowing him, I have become a minister and realize how important and insightful those words are.  Peace, Rev Bonnie Peterson Lange

Dear Jane,

Hard to believe John is longer with us on this physical plane, I feel his spirit so strong. He inspired my life and music, as I'm sure he inspired countless others.  What an amazing life he lived! I'm sending you a new CD : Toward the Sacred that I hope you will enjoy.

Blessings, prayers and Hugs,

Jim Valley

We were blessed to have John as Minister here in the UK for about a year. I very much admired his commitment to peace, and enjoyed his curiosity about all things Yorkshire! My condolences to his family and friends.
John was such a fine man, in every way.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
Excellent qualities to emulate, will see him soon during the resurrection.

There were many of us in the class of 1966 at Columbia High School, now rename Richland High. For this reason, we did not know one another all that well unless we went to the same elementary school or junior high together. I did not know John all that well for those reasons, but he seems to have been a thoughtful and even courageous person, as exemplified by his spiritual focus and refusal to participate in the Vietnam war. For that reason I will remember him.
He had a full and wonderful life. He touched everyone who got to know him and with that made us all happier. He will be missed. Mark

My first substantial contact with John was in 1982, in San Luis Obispo, CA as Faren Bachelis and I were preparing for John to conduct our marriage ceremonies. John mmet with me so that I could discuss my proposed marriage vows--a reading of the 11th verse, "Thirty Spokes," from the TaoTe Ching. John asked excellent questions about what the verse meant to me and how I viewed it as a concept of marriage. He was in all ways a sweet, caring, compassionate and thoughtful man, and I cherish my memories of him.

My sympathy to Jane and all of John’s immediate and extended family and friends. I  knew John during our days at UPS. As happens, life took  us out of touch other than through occasional social media posts. However after these many years I still hold the memory of a very compassionate, funny man with a joy for life.  I am sorry that he is no longer in our world-we need more like him.
A lovely summary of John’s life and impact he had on others. I always appreciated his desire to listen and learn more about others. May your heart be filled with memories.

So sorry for your loss.  John was a great person and always showed concern for others.  We were in the same fraternity (Sigma Nu) and while our paths have not crossed for many years, we became FB friends.  He will be missed by many.
