John's obituary
John is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Dannye Williamsen, and six children from a previous marriage.
Born in Sterling, IL, John entered the Air Force in 1952. After his discharge, he gained an Associates’ Degree in Dental Technology from Southern Illinois University and opened his own laboratory. In 1980, he went to Seminary in Lee’s Summit, MO, and was ordained in 1982.
His thirst for knowledge led him back to the University of Memphis where he graduated in 1996 with a degree in Metapsychology. Since that time he worked with his wife to produce a 5 CD award-winning audiobook as well as several CDs on meditation and spiritual psychology.
In 2008 and 2009 he suffered two strokes that left him unable to read. Not one to quit, he learned to read again and subsequently wrote a coming of age novel titled “The Evolution of a Slingshot” set in the 1940’s. After several Grand Mal seizures, 2017 was the year life really took a turn for him. He experienced ten days of uninterrupted seizures. He was further diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease with Dementia. His personal strength carried him until this year when he finally began to let go.
John was a gentle soul with a contagious smile. His unique views and expressions on the spirituality of man were intriguing to all who heard him or read his works. He will be greatly missed.
It was his desire to have his body donated to the Medical Education Research Institute (MERI). There will be no funeral or memorial service per his request.
