How you can help
We’re setting up this in memory of Goa William Gai, who unexpectedly passed away on January 19th, 2024. Goa was born in Bentiu, South Sudan, on January 24, 1970, and had an incredible journey that brought him all the way to Canada, touching many lives along the way.
Growing up during the civil war in Sudan, Goa had to flee his home country. He found refuge in Ethiopia before moving to Cuba, where he completed his school and later pursued a medical degree at the University of Medical Sciences, Carlos J. Finlay. His dream was to work in healthcare, helping others. In 1997, Goa made Canada his new home, where he became known among friends, family, and colleagues as someone who was always there with a joke, a helping hand, and a kind word for everyone.
Goa's sudden departure has left us all with heavy hearts. He was a man who lived his life with kindness, humility, and a genuine care for others. Now, we want to give back to him and his family during this difficult time.
This fundraiser is to help with the costs of Goa’s burial and to support his wife, Nyagoa William, and his family back in South Sudan, who depended on him. Every little bit helps and goes directly towards giving Goa the send-off he deserves and providing some support to his family.
Thank you for any support you can offer. It means the world to us and to Goa’s family during this tough time . Contribute
