John's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John Taylor Jr. on July 11, 2025. Born on July 27, 1953, John's life was a portrait of hard work, generosity, and deep love for his family, beautifully colored by his favorite hue, Blue. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

John leaves behind a large and loving family, including his beloved children daughters Tameeka Donohoo, Hannah Taylor, Ruby Lee Taylor, Crystal Taylor, and son Levticus Taylor. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Kingston Sorenseon, Kayawnna Ashley, Tilee Payne, and Ayden Payne. John was predeceased by his mother Marie Taylor, father John Taylor Sr., and his brother Deon Taylor.

John was a man of simple but fulfilling joys. He was known for his love of Greens, porch chops, corn bread, and grits, paired ideally with a cold Old English. John was a proud fan of the Cubs and the Gators, but his true recreational passion lay in the serenity of fishing and the joy of riding bikes.

He loved to spend his time at local fishing spots, or playing basketball. Anyone close to him would recall the sweet rhythm of the Isley Brothers, one of his favorite pieces of art, often playing in the background.

John was hardworking and loved his family intensely, his life was a testament to his fundamental belief: Never let anyone get the best of you. His greatest accomplishment, by his own account, were his children, whom he cherished deeply. He possessed a heart brimming with kindness and generosity, and his legacy of love will continue to live on in those who were fortunate enough to know him.

John will be missed for his unwavering support and generosity, always there for everyone and giving to anyone he could. His departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, John Taylor Jr., your memory will forever be a blessing.
