John Wesley Moore was born July 15, 1957 to the union of the late Katie Crain and James Moore. John was the fourth of seven children. John was educated in the Detroit Public School System where he graduated from Kettering High. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army in Texas. Once he fulfilled his military obligation, he relocated back to Michigan to help care for his mother.
