Diane:

I'm so sorry to hear about John. He was more than just a roommate; he was a confidante and best friend. I'll always remember our animated late night conversation at the various Dogtown area taverns.

Please know that you and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Denise Croghan Runco - Diane, I was so sad to read about the passing of John. I have many fond memories of our days at JFK. Unfortunately I lost touch with him after high school, but did cross paths with him one day at Grandpa Pidgeons store in Shrewsbury while living in Affton. We had a great visit and were able to catch up on jobs, spouses and children. Please know that I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Sincerely, Denise

Sweetest Diane,
I am so very sorry about the loss of your beloved John. My heart just goes out to you as you navigate this most intimate of losses. I pray that your faith holds you up as do all the people who loved you guys. You are so very loveable, I can only imagine the outpouring of support.
Sending you so much love and sympathy.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Diane. Although I haven’t seen you in decades, I have warm memories of you as a strong, supportive woman who was always there for everyone else. I hope you’ll let others support you now at this difficult time. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Diane—I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I enjoyed getting to know him as you started your lives together . I remember you went into labor with Devon at my wedding reception. I have thought about you over the years and am sending KD love from Atlanta—love you! Mary Anne (Riggsy)
Diane,
I’m stunned and saddened. Though I lost touch with John over the years, he always came up when I’d tell a story about our JFK days and Rockhurst adventures. My favorite memory of John was when we took our high school senior trip to Rockhurst. He took me to the SAE house where we bought a 25-cent can of beer out of a soda machine. That sold me on Rockhurst.
John was a true gentleman and a fun guy.
You all are in my prayers.
Mike Boland

My sweet friend Diane, my heart and love goes out to you and your family. Prayers for strength. I loved John... he never knew a stranger. Would give you the shirt off his back to help you. He was funny and loved by so many!! I have so many wonderful memories with you two that I will always cherish. He is no doubt standing in heaven at the pearly gate shaking everybody’s hand telling a joke. Love you Diane, AOT always!!! Bob and Nancy
Jim and I always loved the crazy times with the Verhoffs. Driving through vegetable district years ago and John showed Jim how to drive like Rockford. Those two and also by the way Diane, Lisette and I drinking from the boot at a local bar. So glad last year when you 2 came into Milwaukee and it was just us that sat around our fire and had so much fun, wish we could have more times. Love you, treasure all memories.❤️
The Corbys send love and prayers to all of you. We always enjoyed our time with John. Peace to you. Cherish the fond memories Diane and family.💙
We have fond memories of John and his dry wit. We will truly miss him. We are thankful to have shared in his story. Please know that we are praying for and thinking of your sweet family.

Love, the Brauns
John was a great friend. He had a kind heart and a hearty laugh. He was very proud of his family. He and Diane have raised amazing children. We always loved when the Verhoff's came to visit. We are blessed to have had he and his family in our lives. We miss you, John!
