John Thompson Sr. was born on July 18, 1944, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 4, 2023. A loving father and pillar of his community, John's witty humor and kindness touched the lives of many.

John was born in Seattle, WA to Ralph Thompson and Agnes Goodland. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1962, he went on to study at the University of Washington.

After graduating with a degree in business, he went into the Air Force and served as an Officer until moving into the private sector working for the Seattle Chamber of Commerce and Nordstrom before opening his own clothing stores in the greater Seattle region.

In 1968, John married Rena Potts in Seattle, WA and went on to have one child, John Thompson, Jr.

In 2003, John retired and spent his time gardening and cooking in Grey's Harbor until returning back to Seattle in 2022.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years Rena, son John Thompson Jr, daughter-in-law Kristy Thompson and granddaughter Samantha Thompson.

John Sr. held a strong sense of integrity and a genuine love for life, greatly influencing those around him.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us remember him as an inspiration to the family, friends, and community members who were fortunate to know him. We will forever hold the memory of John Thompson Sr. in our hearts and honor his legacy in the lives we lead.
