John's obituary

John B. Thompson Jr. suddenly passed away in his home, February 21st 2025.

Born on January 16th 1947, living in Smyrna, Delaware he was always known for his charming smile and willing to help anyone who needed it. He spent his life working at the local power plant where he retired after 50 years of dedicated work. He met his now late wife Dianne, one night after work at a town dance hall where they fell in love dancing the night away. Some would say after that night they were destined to be together forever. Married for 55 years, they both blessed their lives with 3 beautiful children who they would do anything for. John loved his family tremendously. He will be remembered as the man who would give his family everything if they needed it. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says, "Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord" so John will now be with his loving wife, as they rest together with our Heavenly Father.

John B. Thompson Jr. is survived by his children John B. Thompson III, Heather Krebs, Sherry Thompson, grandchildren, John B. Thompson IV, Melisa Kemp (Thompson), Ashlee Thompson, Samantha Thomas (Honey-Speck) Kristin Thompson, and Jessica Thompson, and great grandchildren, Johnathon, Jason, Jackson, Matthew, Haylee, Colton, Colby, and Isabella.

The family will be hosting a private memorial service following the cremation on Wednesday 2/26/2025.

John 14:1-3 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
