John Sweeter Sr., 84, of Jackson, MI, passed away on August 24, 2024 .

John was born on February 15th, 1940 to parents Glen M. Sweeter Sr and Mary Edith Sweeter in Albion, MI. John worked as a groundskeeper for both Mount Evergreen Cemetary and Woodland Cemetary.  In 1971, he met Linda, and they wed in 1971, going on to have 12  children.  John enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his kids/grandchildren.


Anyone who knew John knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He loved making people laugh.  John was preceded in death by his parents and brother Glen M. Sweeter Jr. John is survived by his children John Sweeter Jr., Jenny (Mike) Owens, Christopher Sweeter, Amy (Eugene Fowle) Sweeter, Brock (Juliet) Sweeter, Crystal (John Wagar) Sweeter, Chastity (Jay) Fetterolf, Shawn Sweeter, Aaron Sweeter, Marcus Sweeter, Brittany (Gerald) Trayer, and Jorden Sweeter.  John is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph O'Dell, Cody Sweeter, Billy, Robert Martin, Corey Martin, Dale Sweeter, Madison Sweeter, Aliza Sweeter, Sabrina Schoenmann, Jeremy Schoenmann Jr., Mercedes Fetterolf , Shane Fetterolf, Hailey Fetterolf, Nathaniel Trayer and Maddison Trayer.  There are no memorial services to be held at this time.
