John's obituary

John Stellander, 86, passed away on Dec. 21, 2021 at Fairview Nursing Center in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Abington, PA in 1935, he was the son of the late John and Garnetta DeFuro Stellander. Brother of Nellie McCormick, Catherine Chareles, Julia Mehl, Nancy Brownsfield, Angelo, and Norman Stellander.

He was the beloved husband of 39 years to Kathryn Stellander (nee Carmondy). Father of Lynn Murray, Jane Stellander, John Stellander III, and Brent Stellander. Grandfather to Jessica, Brian, Kelsey, Khloe, and Wyatt.

John was a residential maintenance and facility technician of Blair Mill Apartments for over 50 years. He also worked part time as a bartender at Blair Mill Inn and Spring Mill Country Club for over 40 years.
He also worked for Sullivan pools for several years.

John graduated from Hatboro Horsham High School in 1953. He was a two sport athlete playing football and baseball while in school. As a young man John served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years as a radio man. He enjoyed spectating sports like football, baseball, hockey, and basketball. Throughout his life, he was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. He will be remembered for his unparalleled work ethic, dry sense of humor, and no nonsense attitude.
