John Smith, a beloved teacher and mentor, passed away on June 23rd, 2013 at the age of 68.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, John spent over 40 years of his life dedicated to teaching and mentoring young students. He was widely respected in the education field and known for his innovative teaching methods and love of literature.
John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, who will remember him for his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.
In 2008, John was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which he courageously battled until his passing. Despite his illness, he continued to teach and inspire his students, and was often found reading his favorite books to them during class.
John's impact will be felt for years to come, as he leaves behind a legacy of passionate teaching and dedicated mentorship. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary, his children, David and Sarah, his grandchildren, and all who knew him.
A celebration of John's life will be held at St. Mary's Church in Boston on June 29th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
