I remember the very first day I met Papa John, I whispered to Erica (his granddaughter) your Papa John looks like Santa Claus. She laughed at me, and said you're so cute. I learned he was a Scorpio like me, and our birthdays are 2 weeks apart. I learned he liked his fillet steaks med rare, which grossed out his granddaughter lol. Lol that night we also had on the same type of shoes 😄 I loved watching him and Erica have their grandpa granddaughter moments, so precious. I have to say I've only known him almost 5 years, but I miss him, what I'm going miss the most is hearing all his awesome stories whenever we we're with him. Grateful for the memories I have of him.
I am so so sad to hear of the passing of my dear friend John Sheffield. I am so glad I got to speak with him recently and have a laugh over the good times we spent together in the states........many meals at the Texas Roadhouse followed by ice cream at The Slab, our trips across the US in the motorhome staying overnight in the Cracker Barrell carpark so we were ready for breakfast the next morning, John taking me down to the Outlet Malls for shopping and then coming back later picking me up with all my parcels. I loved taking him caps and T Shirts with the Tassie Devil on them. This is my favourite picture of John with our Cher the night before she left Texas to come to Australia. John's love for the dogs was incredible and hope he got his wish to sit outside in the sun with the dogs before he died. He will be sadly missed but is now pain free. My love and thoughts are with my American mom Joy Meyer Sheffield and John's family and friends. RIP John xxx
I am sorry for the loss of a good friend and sad for his wife Joy who he left behind. He battled his cancer to the very end. I am thankful he is not suffering anymore and is at peace in heaven. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. Peter
