Two short clips from movies taken by Alden Steck during  Picchiottino-Steck family reunions in the early 1950's.   Swimming was a favorite activity. The early clip shows us in the "Soap Factory" pool of the Eagle River. The second clip is at the river's mouth.

John was my first cousin. Although our families lived far apart, we visited each other regularly during the 1950s. In summer, John’s family would come to Eagle River. My family would go to Milwaukee in early fall. (A short video of two Picchiottino - Steck family reunions in the early 1950s is included to help John’s family remember and celebrate his life.)

John was the only relative that shared an interest in science and invention. He was ten years ahead of me in life. His energy, enthusiasm and success were a lifelong positive example for a good life. We came to share a passion for STEM education through interactive learning and mentoring. Joan and I are happy to make a donation in John’s memory to the SAE Foundation.
