There use to be a Christian coffee house right around the corner of the Strip and Las Olas Blvd. called Maranatha. I'd go in there, now and then, and Johnny would be serving folks free pb&j sandwiches and hot coffee and telling them about Jesus our Lord and Savior. I was always so proud of him. Sometimes, Johnny would take me for a ride on his Harley and that was so thrilling. I always admired Johnny for serving during the Vietnam War. I respected him for being a true Patriot that loved his country and fellow man. I was always honored to call him my kin.

John was a great friend,mentor and neighbor. When me and wife moved next door to him he always said it was God's plan and he put us here for a reason. That really made us feel at home. We were just starting our family and he gave us so much guidance and confidence in our parenting. He impacted our lives so much and I'm going to miss him alot.

John was and still is a force of God that impacted my life with his love for Jesus. What a huge heart of caring for others! While he was building out the church, and my townhome, I was painting and we got to talk. He listened. And when he spoke, it was like someone who just read your mail. What made him different was his sincerity and kindness in a humorous way when he connected with me, and everyone else it seemed, all the time. John was one of my favorite people from whom I learned how to love others.
John, I look forward to that day with you again, when we all celebrate our Lord as you did on earth.

Dawn your John will be greatly missed. He was a true servant of the Lord and a fun person to be around. Yes he was a talker. If you got him on a subject he liked it was hard to get away. Praying for comfort and peace knowing he is with the Lord and out of his physical struggle.
