It is with a heavy heart, yet deep gratitude to God, that I stand to honor the life of my brother-in-law, my friend, my brother — Kibago.

For over 35 years, KY has not just been part of my life; he has been woven into it. Ours was never just a family connection through marriage it was a genuine friendship built on trust, respect, laughter, and shared journeys over decades.

KY was a man of quiet strength and steady character. He carried himself with dignity, humility, and grace. He was dependable the kind of man you could count on without question. In a world that often shifts, KY was constant. But beyond that, KY was an incredibly fun person to be around full of warmth, laughter, and a spirit that brought people together. He made life lighter and moments richer just by being present.

Over the years, we shared conversations, moments of joy, seasons of challenge, and the simple everyday interactions that, in hindsight, become the most meaningful. He had a way of making people feel at ease never loud, never seeking attention, but always present, always solid.

What stood out most about KY was his courage. Over the past year, as he faced his illness, he did so with remarkable strength, faith, and resilience. He fought with dignity. He endured with grace. And even in his most difficult moments, there was a quiet acceptance and trust in God’s will that spoke volumes about the depth of his character.

He loved his family deeply. That love was evident not in grand declarations, but in his consistency, his presence, and his commitment. He was a pillar and his absence will be deeply felt.

Personally, I have lost a friend one who walked alongside me through life’s seasons for more than three decades. That kind of bond is rare. That kind of history cannot be replaced.

But even in our grief, we take comfort in knowing that KY is now at peace. The suffering is over. The journey here is complete. And we trust, fully, that he rests in Heaven .

As we say goodbye, we do not just mourn his passing we celebrate his life. A life well lived. A life that touched many. A life that leaves behind a legacy of strength, humility, and faith.

Rest well, KY.

You fought a good fight.

You finished the race.

And you kept the faith.

We will miss you deeply but we will carry your legacy forward with us always.
