John Stephen Moorman "Steve", 76, of Lafayette, passed away on November 10, 2022 at home surrounded by his wife and children after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

 Steve was born on June 18, 1946 to John D. Moorman  and L. Jean Sellars Moorman in Knox, Indiana, graduating from Knox High School in 1964.   He married Sandra K. Petry on June 11, 1967 going on to have three children, Kari, Scott, and Jill.  Steve was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, serving in the Army.  His career path led him to driving tour buses for Imperial Travel before retiring from Purdue University where he drove for Purdue before becoming the Head of Transportation.   Steve spent much of his time cheering on (or complaining about) Purdue Athletics.  He also  enjoyed traveling with his wife Sandra and Scottish Terriers J.T. and Jack.  

Steve was predeceased in death  by his mother Jean, his father John, and his grandson Trystyn.   He is survived by his wife Sandra, his children, Kari (John) Beery, Scott (Ashley) Moorman, and Jill (Len) Melanson; his sisters, Carol (Devon) Skibbe  and Patsy (Rick) Richey; his grandchildren Kevin (Katie) Beery, Jenna Beery, Katy Beery, Jacki Beery, Kelli Melanson, and Bailey Hamilton.
