John's obituary
He was born on February 20th, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ignatius and Helen Mauer. Jack graduated in 1970 from Maple Heights High School.
In 1973 He met and married the love of his life Elaine Lynn Venczel. Together they raised their daughter Melinda and son Jonathan Mauer. They enjoyed 30 years of Marriage until Elaine’s passing in May 2007.
Jack worked as a machinist at Kennemetal in Solon, Ohio and enjoyed a much deserved retirement since July 2014.
He enjoyed the company of friends and family, spending time outdoors, fishing, going to the casino and his beloved dogs.
He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.
Despite what he was going through he always had a positive attitude and a smile for everyone around him. He inspired the people in his life with his strength and courage while fighting this disease.
Jack is survived by His son, Jonathan Mauer, his daughter-in-law Jillian Mauer; their children, Braxden and Breyley; Brothers Kenneth and Bill Mauer; His grandchildren, Brian Delphia, his wife Brittany Delphia and Nicolas Delphia.
He was also preceded in death by his parents Ignatius and Helen; his sister, Linda; daughter, Melinda; and wife Elaine.
The grave side service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery on February 12th at 2pm. His celebration of Life will be held at Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Rd, Chagrin Falls, Ohio on John’s birthday; Saturday February 20th at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation of plants as they plan to create a memorial garden in his honor.
