John was a cool guy. He had a great voice that could be heard all through the DFW Metroplex. When you shook his hand you were lucky that he didnt break it cause he was so strong. There's very few things I can say bout John cause I didnt know him very well but he was always nice to me. RIP John. Sing with the angels.

Big John Hall is number 13 of 13 children. He is my mother's brother. He is a Husband, Father, Brother, Mentor, Friend, a Pastor to his family first then to countless others, He is a Minister of The Gospel of Jesus Christ, He is a true worshiper, friend of God.
As far back as I can remember he was the undisputed leader of the Hall family. In all our get togethers and meetings of any kind, he presided and was looked to for prayer, for council, for singing of course. When I was 10, he took me with him for his Sunday services. One in Killen, TX, the next in Austin. When he got up to sing, the place came alive with anticipation. When the first note came out of his mouth, everyone stood and cheered him. After each service, people lined up to meet him and shake his hand and or buy his albums. This was his life. Every Sunday he was somewhere traveling for The Ministry. For over 60 years he did this. I watched in awe at how he never had a moment that was too big for him. He was God's man, and he was so humble about it all. Going on those trips with him became something very special. The last trip we took together was about 5 years ago. Same drill as 45 years earlier. Get up, pray for an hour, then go do a morning service, eat lunch, get a bit of rest, then go do an evening service. There is zero doubt in my mind that his highest priority was to be pleasing to God at all times in all things. I saw behind the curtain. I saw the man who sang before vast audiences and on TV was the same in every day life that he was on stage. Humble, gentle, above all else Godly. And one other thing that few knew. He carried a burden for the lost and the saved. He carried a burden that those of us who knew Jesus as Savior truly loved one another as Christ loves the church. This was a huge part of his life and everything he did was toward this purpose.
I'm so thankful to have had this man and this whole family as a part of my life. So many things about Uncle John are flooding my mind this morning, but the overwhelming thought of him this morning is that he IS, Was and Will Remain a PILLAR of The Faith, who will stand in place in the minds and hearts of all the lives he touched till the end of time. Through storms, through life events that otherwise would have crushed us,
Big John Hall
still stands like a seasoned marble pillar, holding up thousands of us. Wether it was his voice that shattered sound systems everywhere he sang, and rattles the walls of churches, concert halls and stadiums where he sang and ministered to masses, royals, and world leaders, to the personal relationships with so many. This morning I see this Pillar, this incredibly sweet, tender hearted giant who is finally getting to experience his Father welcome him and say those words we all look forward to hearing, Well done, thy good and faithful servant.
