I was very sad to hear the news of John (马大任)'s passing. We have all been such good life-long friends, and I am sorry that both John and May have passed on.
I will miss both of them very much.
I hope the family is all well, and wish you all good health.
Best wishes,
Miranda Tai
Mr. Ma was an amazing elder. He founded the Books-for-China (B4C) Project (贈書中國計劃) in 2005 at age 85 with a few of his friends. The goal of the B4C Project is to collect books from private collections of scholars, retired professors, libraries, and publishing houses, and send the books to over 40 university libraries in China. Since the inception of this project in 2005, Mr. Ma and his volunteer team have already sent 45 containers (nearly 500,000 books) to China. He was passionate about books and set a great example of dedication by contributing to the project tirelessly until his final days.
Uncle Ma made a great impact in this world, with his love, his generosity, his humor, and his joyful childlike smile. His spirit will always be with us.

What an extraordinary man! I LOVED reading Mr. Ma's essay "Helping My Fellow Man". Very beautiful and thought provoking...my heart is with you the entire Ma family!
