I met John my senior year of High School in Newport News, VA in 1975. I am so very sorry to hear about his death. I periodically kept in touch with John through FB, but the past few years I have chosen not to access FB. John had a big and kind heart. He was genuine and always wanted to do the right thing. And he loved Jesus with his whole heart! I also had the pleasure of meeting his parents in Atlantic City in 1976. He was very proud of his heritage and his parents. That same year I made a small green rug for him with the Greek letters Alpha and Omega, as a birthday gift.
For some reason I was compelled to do a search for John today to discover that he had passed away. If you come across an old picture (1975) of a girl standing in the middle of wild sunflowers, that is me.
Warm thoughts and blessings to you all. I can imagine there is an empty space with John once was.
Sincerely,

I’ll share photos later. My uncle John is five years older than me, so that means he’s a baby. Lol. I am so heartbroken over the way he died and how young he was, and more so that we won’t be able to share private messengers or visit each other again here on earth as we know it. he was especially special to me in the way that a lot of people don’t know, he was in California for both of my children’s births and that was really really special because of course I was so proud to have my babies and share that joy with him my mom‘s beloved youngest brother. I am so grateful and blessed that he always followed God and Jesus to the best of his ability and he was kind and loving fun cranky crabby normal and more… because everyone just makes all of us out to be so perfect 😍 none of us are perfect 😍 none of us are Jesus 🙏🏼 I have such wonderful memories of many different times what really sticks out my mind when his son Johnny was a certain age basically every age! He was so so proud of his most precious accomplishment a son with his name who could sing and articulate and have great conversations with his family friends relatives. I’m a mom ..I know all about that pride, I pray that when it’s my time to leave, I will be there with my Lord and Savior and get to see my uncle John and my family again. He was crazy, cuckoo about his parents I think all parents would be proud of that!We were so blessed in our family because attending aunt Mary’s 90th birthday gave us our last opportunity of his California family to see and spend time with Uncle John again. I wished I was writing this to you uncle instead of sharing it with our family. I love you and pray that you rejoice in peace. I think resting in peace is too boring for some of us!! love you forever, hugs and kisses your niece Doreen
