John's obituary
Together with Grace his selfless nature was shown again when he, without obligation and zero hesitation, raised his step granddaughter Michelle as his own child when the need arose during early infancy. He was an impeccable father and was very close to his daughter and his best friends Dan, Marilyn and Lola. He was kind to everyone he met and had a big heart for children so it's no surprise he was a wonderful grandfather also, developing close relationships with his grandsons Riley and Nigel. All of this done while quietly battling PTSD and anxiety. He found strength in his faith in God and the prevalence of good.
A small service with full military honors was held at Riverside National Cemetery in January with his daughter, her husband Eric, his grandsons, brother Paul, sisters Mary and Caroline and a few close friends in attendance.
We can continue his legacy of kindness and service to others by being kind and in service to others.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation in his name to the Military Honors Detail or anything else that helps support our Veterans.
