John's obituary

John L. "JR" Richardson 04/14/1947-11/15/2021

John "JR" was born in Eugene, Oregon on April 14, 1947 to Leonard and Eleanor Richardson. He was the oldest of 4 children. John grew up in Eugene and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at 17 years old and did multiple tours in Vietnam. John worked at a variety of places including Nicolai Manufacturing, Springfield Toyota and Guaranty RV for 30 years before retiring in 2019.

John married Joyce Burres and were married from 1975 to 1995. They had two daughters, Heather and Haley. In 2007, John married Peggy in a small ceremony in their beautiful backyard. John had many hobbies including shooting, visiting with people about his wide range of passions, camping and most of all riding his beloved Harley Davidsons across the country, exploring beautiful territory with his wife Peggy.

John is survived by his wife Peggy Richardson; daughters, Heather Townsend and Haley Richardson; grandchildren Light, Jaiden, and Tatum; sisters, Mary Vincent and Therese Briggs; brother Charlie Richardson; Son in Law Richard Townsend. Later in life, John met his adult son John Kau and had three grandchildren Nikkole, Mikkala, and, Stephen. He has  numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He also leaves behind his adored Rottweiler Tahkenitch "Tahk".

Preceded in death, Son in law Tyron Manlove, and his son John Kau.

A memorial gathering and celebration is being planned in April around John's 75th birthday.

He is dearly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
