John's obituary

Our father, John Frances Kettner was born on 12/21/27 and passed away 3/31/19. He was not an ordinary father. He suffered 2 broken backs, served in combat during World War ll in the Merchant Marines, had 8 children, 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

After the War, he started his professional career as a cab, bus, and truck driver before finding his love with the United States Postal service. Starting as a mail sorter, he eventually rose to Post Master before retiring as a Sectional Center Director of mail processing of VA.

John was a deeply religious man who loved his wife Dorothy every second of the 72 years of their life together.

There was no gray area with our father. It was either black or white, right or wrong. That was one of the things that endeared us to him the most.

Even though their were 8 of us children, we all knew “We” were his favorite!

Dec 21st would be his 93rd birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!! “Part of the greatest Generation”
