We think of this day every year and the loss of JC. He and Renee were our very best friends in Creede and they would definitely win the award for best neighbors ever! The love the four of us shared as living next door to each other in Creede, Colorado will never be forgotten. JC and Renee were the absolute best! We know we will see them again in Heaven but miss them terribly. The world was a better place with the two of them in it.
Hi Banks Family, I just happen to look for old colleagues from OSU and shocked to see that JC Banks had passed away. I was an international graduate student in Dr. JQ Lynd's Lab from 1967-70. My desk was next to JC's. He helped me in settling down in a totally new place and country. On top of my desk, he built a book case so I could put my books. Everybody called him JC, however, I started calling him Clyde and he would reply Kumar, my middle name. It still brings smile to my face! When I needed some money, I would work with him logging firewood. He would pay me $20 a day, a big amount at that time. He and Renee once came to our apt for dinner. Many memories! He was always very helpful, kind and understanding. my sincere condolences to the whole family. We will miss him!
We attended the First Baptist Church of Dill City from little kids till we graduated from different high schools. J C was a class person who had a kind and caring heart. I will always cherish the years that knew each other. Condolences to his family. J C was a special person.
Renee and family---So sorry for the void in your life today. I really enjoyed the friendship with JC. I think of him most every time I pass my old house and see the huge oak trees that JC set for me in 2000. Only the Lord can ease the pain in your heart you feel now, but you already know that to be true. Please take comfort in knowing that your Oklahoma family of believers are praying for you. Also be reminded that JC is face to face with the ONE that died for him. In Christ---Mike and Janean Brown
J. C. Banks was a good man and friend and enjoyed a life well lived. My condolences to the family and friends as he will be so dearly missed. Dr. Banks knew where he was headed when he took his last breat on this earth so it’s not goodbye but it’s we will see you later my friend.
J.C. was a good friend through the years and I enjoyed getting to know and learn from him as a young rep in the Ag business. My grandparents farmed at Tipton and when grandad passed away the old 1901 wooden wagon was sold at auction to Murray Williams in Altus. I told JC that if I ever had a chance a wanted to try and get my great grandad Perkins’ wagon back. Sure enough about two years later (1999) JC called and told me Mr. Williams was willing to sell me the wagon. I’m not sure how JC pulled that off, but that wagon is in my backyard in Idalou, TX thanks to your dad.
Condolences to all the family for the loss of a great person. We did a lot of projects together, hunted together, and worked on machinery, and of course, trees. He made it all enjoyable, no matter the weather or the difficulty. I smiled every time I thought of him and laughed with him when we were together. He will be missed by many and the world needs more like him.
Well, we always knew JC was an angel. I guess this just makes it official. When I think of JC, it will be out on his tractor in my yard, moving a big shed, larger than life. JC embodied the Saturday Evening Post print on my wall with the caption " nothing is as strong as gentleness, nothing as gentle as real strength". We were so blessed to have JC in our midst, quietly and humbly moving mountains and working miracles among us. JC, I guess we can't deny you your fun in heaven, heaven knows you earned it, but we miss you. You leave a hole in our community that no one else can fill. Our loss is heaven's gain. Say hi to my brother in heaven...see y'both when I get there. We love you JC.
