Personal note

The Carter Family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers by visits, phone calls, text messages, voicemail messages, sending cards and flowers. Our mother, Grace Carter, along with his family are heartbroken. It only proves how much love and time Dad invested in his family, his children. A person’s life is measured by the legacy that’s left behind—will they miss me when I’m gone? Did I teach anyone anything? Did I leave my family intact? Through this shared life experience it gives us perspective, purpose and meaning of what this life’s journey is all about. At sunset, when the curtain closes—all we have is cherished loved ones and friends, not the things of this world. Dad is up there in Heaven with John Jr. cheering us on not to be sad because he lived a full life and things are beautifully made beyond comprehension on the other side just like what God promised. He would often ask, “do you know the Lord?” because he kept the faith and knew God’s word is true and eternal life is God’s greatest gift to us all. On behalf of John’s children, please continue to keep our mom lifted up in prayer; they were together a long time. We love you and may joy and peace be yours. Thank you for everything Dad. We love you in this life and the next life to come❤️
