All my memories of John are filled with laughter. We had so much fun together, playing golf, partying, listening to music, going to Florida on vacation...John was such a great guy. He loved his family and his friends. He was a "gentle giant" who would never hurt anyone. I will always remember him with a smile and the sound of laughter. Love you, Chief.

Gosh writing this right now does not feel real…
There are some people you meet and you feel a sense of familiarity and safety. That was who John was to me right off the bat when I first met him 20 years ago. He welcomed me into his family with such warmth and never made me feel like just “the friend”.
Some of my favorite memories are the simplest ones…meeting at Muchos for dinner and margs, him cheering on NVA Chaos from the sidelines every weekend during JO season, the time he took 16-yr-old Julie and I golfing at Weymouth when I didn’t even know how to swing a golf club (lolz…), deep sea fishing in Hilton Head and when he met my baby. There were so many more memories I was lucky enough to have with John. Those moments didn’t feel extraordinary at the time, but now I realize they were everything.
I’m so grateful for the love he gave so freely, and for the role he played in my life. He was family. And he always will be. RIP, John. I bet Chanel and Nana were waiting for you at those big beautiful gates.

My heart hurts for Linda and his girls. We will all miss John and his big smile and even bigger heart! His laugh is unforgettable. I’ve known John for over 50 years and I can look back on so many great memories, as I am sure everyone who has known him can.
John is with Jesus and the angels now, but love never dies and we will always have him in our heart!
