John (Jack)'s obituary
Jack was known for his love of the card game Bridge and of sports, especially the New York Yankees. Prior to becoming physically unable to do so in 2004, Jack competed in American Contract Bridge League tournaments all over the country. He was just 100 points shy of designation as a Gold Life Master. Even while in the nursing home, Jack would play online bridge when he was still able to do so, and he would listen to the Yankees baseball games on the radio.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Marion (Consodine) and Leon Jay (“Bud”), as well as his older brother Charles (“Chuck”). He is survived by his two sisters, Mary Pat Curry and Nancy Bounds; his brother, David; his four children, Michelle (Paul Smith); John, Jr. (“Jay”); Courtney (Stacy Bissonnette); and Peter (Rachel); as well as his three granddaughters: Charli; and Maxine and Veronica Smith.
The family will hold a small, private memorial service. They ask that in lieu of flowers or donations you have a conversation with a loved one about how you can best honor their end-of-life wishes. For more information, please visit: https://theconversationprojec…
