My dad, John Hill Huffman was a great man. He was born in a small town with big city dreams. Dad was always optimistic, a joker, an expert lecturer and loved a good challenge. He was one of the hardest working people I ever met and he passed that onto me, as well as his extremely Good looks. His motto was work hard and play hard, which we all know he lived by to the extreme. But he also loved hard and noone knew that better than my mom.

Always an optimist dad would often say, "It will all work out in the end," and more often than not he was right. He pushed through and had the determination to fulfill his goals, such as going back to college, working for the biggest electrical company in the area and retiring in Florida. And I would say he accomplished his biggest goal, keeping mom happy.

Dad taught me to love all the things he did, starting with his love of music, we used to have dance parties around the house and would listen to records on the weekend.  Then basketball when mom and dad got me a hoop and ball at the age of 4. He loved his BBALL! He even coached my 6th grade team. Dad took me fishing when we lived in Florida and though he didn't much like to fish or maybe just not catching fish, we would still go all the time.  I found out later why, he wasnt the luckiest man and one fish he caught cost him a fairly hefty fine. It just wasn't big enough, and that day we got to watch a ranger give cpr to a fish.

He taught me how to be a man and a father. I still have so many questions, but I know if I look hard enough they are there.
My deepest sympathies to you and the kids Deb. I always loved John and he was and will always be family to me! The world lost a good man with a laugh that was contagious! Prayers sent...
