John's obituary

John Alvin Horst,42, passed away in Vero Beach,Fl. He is survived by his mother and sibling.

An intelligent, hopeful dreamer with a carefree spirit, John grew up with his grandparents in Ojai, California as the mischievous kid running around the neighborhood with the other boys. Quitting high-school, he chased his dreams of writing the best computer code and was proud of his self-taught computer geek skills. He enjoyed nature, gardening and cooking. Although he had a couple of heartbreaks and struggles along the way, he developed strong friendship bonds with those around him and kept in touch with life-long friends. He enjoyed the company of "Uncle Nick" and his wife Paula. His best friends Jeremy and Tyler were his forever buddies and confidants. In late 2020, John made the bold move to go across country for a chance at love (and though not easy to convince a celibate widow who had once considered becoming a nun) he won the heart and loyalty of his girlfriend-fiance whom he spent his last Thanksgiving holiday with, sprinkled with the touch of a warm early Christmas. John Horst's memory will be remembered lovingly by all as he continues his journey and next chapter of his Soul with heavenly blessings to follow and the Holy Spirit to guide him. He will be missed.
