John "David" Hollongsworth, 71, of Versailles, KY passed away peacefully on January 16, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones. David grew up in Texas, but moved to Colorado and then Washington(State). He retired from working as a Codes Enforcement Officer for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed an occasional cigar and bourbon with friends. David will be dearly missed and always remembered.

David was predeceased by his mother Joyce ( Lowry) Hollingsworth. He is survived by his wife Lynne, daughter Jenni and son-in-law Rob (Evras) and grandchildren Finley and Silas. Additionally he is survived by his father Jack Hollingsworth, and his sisters Kathy McCafferty), Susan (McElroy) and Mary ( Miller ). David requested a celebration of life be held later in the Spring in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. Donations to the Lexington Habitat for Humanity can be made in his name.
