John Julian Herr, 75, was born on July 22,1947 in Quincy, CA. He passed on April 20,2023 in the VA medical center at  Mather, CA. He moved to Broderick, CA at about the age of 8 and graduated from Washington high-school in 1965. John was a Vietnam Veteran Staff Sergeant for the USAF and purple heart recipient, 1967-68. John was a hardworking man 40 + yrs. as a Sheetmetal/ HVAC supervisor. He was a skilled hobbyist building 100's of model planes and a collector of model trains. A devoted family man, he was well respected in his community. He loved his family unconditionally and lived his life with integrity.  He had a great sense of humor and was dedicated to making sure his family was safe and successful. He spent many years out on local lakes, and on the Sacramento and American river boating and fishing with his family. A little known fact about him: he enjoyed dancing and was a wonderful singer. John was an adored husband and best friend of Hope Kelly Herr, a loving father to Scott Herr, Greg Herr(Neva), Jason Herr, Rose Herr and a bonus Dad to Kym Smith (Paul) Bret and Sean Kelly.
