Background
On November 12th, 2022, I received a phone call from Manatee Memorial Hospital informing me that my father was in their care. They needed to get in contact with family as they were putting him on life support. From what I was told, he was fighting pneumonia and was on oxygen at the local jail facility. My father is considered an inmate and due to these conditions, it's made it extremely hard to navigate. After initially being able to visit on day 2 & 3 in ICU, Manatee County Sheriff's Office is now denying family members access to him, as well as, information on his care. It's hard enough navigating "all of the things" of an upcoming loss of a loved one and they've only added extra stress and aggravation to the entire situation. I'm in the midst of trying to speak with a judge, lawyer, and/or anybody that I feel may will help with the above circumstances. Monday November 21st, 2022 will be day 10 in ICU. I was told that's when we start discussing taking my father off life support. Due to life's many unfortunate events, I'm unable to cover cremation cost at this time. I'm hoping that with your help I will be able to put him right next to my mother in her urn. If you feel it in your heart and are able to spare a few bucks, I Thankyou. I know times are tough on all, anything and everything is greatly appreciated. ❤️💔
My dad loves sitting outside and just watching the birds, bees, squirrels, and other surrounding wildlife. He's a gentle soul and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Although he quit this last year, he really loves his beer too. Most importantly, he loves his family and friends!
For anyone inquiring, my dad was in custody due to a DUI in 2020 that he was found incompetent to stand trial for. I was out of state during a week we were to report to pretrial release officer and they issued a warrant. Probation officer had stated my call would suffice but in end, it did not.
November 23rd update - I was called up to the hospital and told that he's fighting MRSA, has cancer on his liver, ribs, and throat. Due to his fragile state, it took time to get these test done. He has made no improvements and quality of life is what's to consider now. Hospice should be coming in within a day or so. Contribute
