John Joseph Golden Jr., 80, of Linden, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 5, 2023 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

John was born in New Milford, CT, son of the late John Joseph Golden Sr. and Anne M. (Hope) Golden. He earned his bachelor’s degree from MIT, Class of 1965 and spent his professional life working as an IT executive. John was passionate about raising funds for his alma mater and in 2020 received the prestigious Bronze Beaver Award from the MIT Alumni Association. John was an avid golfer, sports fan, dog lover, voracious reader, and wine enthusiast who cherished time with his friends and family. John made a lasting impression on all those he crossed paths with and was well loved and respected.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ethel, his children Elizabeth Golden and her spouse Evelyn Oquendo of Swampscott, MA, Jennifer Caracoglia and her spouse Michael of Hampton, NH, John J. Golden III of CO, Matthew B. Golden of Woburn, MA, and his stepson Michael J. O’Neill of Linden, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, James, Noah, and Desirae and his siblings, Fran, Jim, Tim, and Kathy. John was predeceased by the mother of his children, Carolyn Joan (Pachesa) Golden.

Arrangements: There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Augustine Parish, 43 Essex Street, Andover, MA 01810.
