I'm so heartbroken for everyone who knew And loved him. He made class fun and ffa as well. He always had my best interest in mind and I was asked to go along to the FFA in Missouri it was fun and I learned alot. He also was good at taking pictures. You will be missed

John Gibbs was a special person I worked with at North Crawford School in the 1990's. His Agriculture Classroom was always open anytime of the day for me to wander in and talk about gardening, politics, travel, and other interests like surfing in California. John often talked about how he and Sarah were both proud of their children, David and Rachel. His grandson was special.
I will especially miss our breakfasts at the local cafe and dinners on Thursdays. John was one positive influential person to me.

John, a person that always made you feel important, worthwhile and inspired you to do more, but showed that just simple things like always being warm, caring, devoted and friendly is what really makes the world and community a wonderful place.... And it's not hard! We all must carry on this incredible warmth he left behind. Love to all!

What a legacy he left. I was in NHS my junior and senior year of high school, and was thinking about North Crawford’s former FFA program and Agriculture classes. I was told to look for Mr. John Gibbs, but he found me first. He was so helpful, supportive, and proud with the thought of restarting the FFA program and Ag classes. He was at every event where we talked about this; school board meetings, NHS meetings, and even scholarship night. He asked what inspired me to take this step, and I explained there was an old barrel which said North Crawford FFA. He went to take a picture of this barrel and it even appeared at the first FFA awards night. I also heard Mr. Gibbs was there, and shared an amazing story. I feel honored to have known him. Restarting the program would not have been possible without him. I will forever be grateful for his support and kindness, and will always remember his light, kindness, and memory.

John made an incredible impact in so many lives. We were sad to be unable to make the remembrance though we were there with you in our hearts. So many memories to pick just one is almost impossible. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Until our paths cross again, James and La Vonne Mindrum

John took an 8th grade class to Green Lake, WI to compete in a FFA trivia contest. The team worked really diligently and won first place! It was such a fun day for the kids. They even had a fire department escort back to the school.

John and my sister, Sarah, were married in early August 1968 in Southern California. At around 30 years of age, weird things started to happen in her body and after an incorrect MS diagnosis she was diagnosed as having Chronic Lyme Disease. For over 40 years, John was her excellent caregiver until she died. In addition to everything written about John in the obituary, he was an angel to Sarah and for that I am profoundly grateful.
