John's obituary
I created this website to remember my father, Dr. John Garland Boswell, MD (1957-2023). My father lived a wonderful life in many different places. He hailed from Norco California, before residing in West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Boswell, his sons Zachary and Catlin Boswell, and his daughter (myself) Dr. Ashley Baker, PSYD.
He died tragically on 01/08/23 from a homicide which involved another family member. This tragedy forever changed our family and the trajectory of many lives, including his own. Zebulon, as he was known to many, lives on in every laugh, in the Rolling Stones, and every harsh movie review. He is found in his grandson's mental math abilities, and in the yellow roses (his favorite) that bloom in our garden. He reigns supreme in his medical school friend's memories as a wild man, forestry club member, and forever pal. He is found in every trivia game and when Willie Nelson wails. Most of all, he lives on in the minds and hearts of those who loved him.
My father was a wonderful pathologist, a prolific reader, and a great dad. He was a fabulous brother, a lover of theatre and plays, and an opinionated conservative republican. He didn't suffer fools but loved with his whole heart. We believe he's in heaven watching John Wayne movies and checking in on the one's he left behind. For those who knew him, he was unforgettable.
I will forever remember my Dad for his chuckles, his fantastic music tastes, and his lack of fashion sense. Now he's a spirit in the sky, rocking out in ray bans, waiting for us to join him.
I miss you Zebbie & I will love you forever.
Love, Sis
Ashley Boswell Baker
