John Dickerson 73 of Nyack, NY passed away into eternal rest on 1/1/2026 due to cardiac arrest.  He was born to parents Benjamin Crenshaw and Lilian Dickerson.

He was residing in Spring Valley, NY. He was a Christian who believed in the saving power of Jesus Christ.  He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and attending Church.  He enjoyed spending time fishing at his favorite fishing lake.  He was a proud New Yorker which often was reflected in his clothing apparel highlighting all his favorite New York sports teams. He was young at heart and caring with a great sense of humor and infectious laughter that was contagious.   He was known to lend a helping hand to those in need.

John was a loving father to five children and several grandchildren.  Doretha (Shynesha, Ra’shamer) Dickerson,  Diamond (Kierra, Diamond Jr.3rd) Dickerson,  Tye (Emily) Dickerson,  Tiphani (Aihyanna, Jakai) Dickerson, and Isaiah Dickerson.

Surviving siblings include; Delain Jones, Joseph Dickerson, and Lucille Harris.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Crenshaw and Lilian Dickerson, Siblings; Eva Dickerson and David Jones. And great granddaughter Shontel Sampson. 

Forever in our hearts your memories will be stored.  Your just one thought away from a memory to explore.  So we think of the good times and your smiling face.  Thanking God for the good times and his mercy and grace.  No more suffering, No more pain. To be present with the Lord is eternal gain.  Rest in Peace Dad- Doretha Dickerson.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on January 15, 2026 from 5p-8p at The Party Palace 136 Lake Street, Newburgh New York 12550. 

The family will be receiving flowers and donations at the Party Palace.
