Dear Dewett Family,
My heart breaks for you in this tremendous loss. You spent years sharing this wonderful man with so many of us - be that athletes, students, and colleagues. When we won the league championship at Grandview with him at the helm, our mantra as a team was “believe.” I pray that you too can “believe” and feel the support from all of those he touched over the years.
I had the pleasure to know Andy as a Social Studies teacher at Rangeview HS. We had a common thread of being grads of Aurora Central...only 18 years apart. I so remember him backing me up when a star pitcher of his, who was my assistant, changed grades in my grade book and I caught it. Andy said to him, you aren't traveling with the team...you will take your medicine here at home . I so appreciated his support, even though it could have cost the team. I remember the pick-up truck he drove and the stories I often heard about him being a bit of a crazy man, but that is what made him so lovable. Then onto Grandview he went and my two kids also attending there. I loved seeing him drive the golf cart during Homecoming and having wonderful interactions with him at school events. Always a smile to light up the world and a giggle or two. I am heartbroken at this loss. He gave so much to so many...He touched lives he didn't even know he touched....He too will be so missed by so many! My heartfelt condolences to his family and prayers....."To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world!"

Andy was the BEST supervisor I could have ask for at CT! He was always supportive, kind, had a smile on his face and someone who always asked about me and my family! He will be greatly missed and was truly a "good guy"...I'm sure he's watching over his family from heaven.
It is so amazing to read the wonderfully kind memories that have been shared about Andy. There is a common theme to every entry and that is how caring Andy was. He was there for everyone, always. You could go to Andy and regardless of the nature of the issue.. you would always leave his office knowing it will all work out. I recall that some of us wanted to have a T-shirt printed for Andy that said “it will all work out”. That was his mantra and more often than not, it did work out. I had the pleasure of working with Andy at CT for several years and went to him for advice more often times than I can even count. Andy was truly amazing. Many of us often thought that if there was one word that could define Andy, the word was decent. He was a decent man and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to work with him and learn from him. Every person that came to know Andy was truly touched by his kindness and caring nature. Andy, you, your family, your friends and colleagues are all in my prayers. You will be truly missed my friend.
Andy always had a warm welcoming smile and will forever be missed. Our thoughts and prayers to the Dewett Family.

I am so devastated by this news. My prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to Jenessa, the Dewett children/grandchildren, Sam and Magoo (aka Martin). I am the little sister to Aaron Bennett and know Andy/Jenessa through him. He and Andy played ball together in high school/college. So many of my childhood memories fondly revolve around their baseball seasons: the crack of the bat, smell of the fresh cut grass, visiting with Jenessa (and the other girlfriends), Margie, Sam, Magoo; all the while fighting-off ‘bleacher butt’. Aaron, Andy, Tom (Triska) and Sean (Patterson) were roommates at Metro and playing ball together there as well; so a long history together, very strong friendship bond - even in life’s distance - they always picked up where they left off. Such good memories (for all including those a bit removed like myself, a little sister - Lil’ Bennett). Just please know I am here for ALL of you. Praying for God to feel close during this difficult time/tragedy, and am here to help in whatever way I can … no questions asked, a ‘runner’ if you will. Love you all. Adrienne - Lil’ Bennett 😢
I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your Beloved♥️ Sending Love and Prayers♥️

My heart broke when I heard the news about Andy. Although it has been a few years since I’ve seen Andy I can hear his voice and see his smile. Our offices at Grandview were next to one another and I loved chatting with him. I can hear Andy telling me that the sound of me pouring M&M’s into a jar each morning was “music to his ears”. Janessa- I send love, strength, and courage to you and your family. I am so sorry... Rest easy, Andy 💙🖤
The Lytle Family in North Carolina are truly sorry for the loss of Andy. I remember when I would baby sit Andy and Martin when we all lived in Louisiana we send love, prayers, thoughts to the Family. RIP our dear friend Andy
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Dewett family. Andy was the type of Boss that would tell us to leave early on Fridays (or any day), we would spend time talking about food and our mutual interest of smoking meats. We would laugh daily, and have the “couch” sessions in office 170, always the stories that had us rolling with laughter. He was always there to listen and make you feel better. With that contagious smile. He will be so missed.
Andy was the type of administrator that always supported his teachers. He would be the first to welcome you into his office and listen when you needed it. We will miss him as a leader and as a friend.
I am heartbroken at learning of Andy's passing. He was a true leader, an amazing educator, and a wonderful man. He will live on in our hearts.
Much love to Janessa and his family, you are in my prayers.
My prayers and condolences to the Dewett family. I knew Andy as he was over the Deans at Cherokee Trail. He was a kind man who supported you and gave you advice.
Words can not express the sadness I feel. Rest In Peace my friend.
