John will always be a gentleman in my heart.
My dream of making Jupiter Farms my home was inspired by the beauty of his wonderful property. He once lived in the Plantation area, where many of my clients also live, so I naturally felt a special connection to him and the community.
When his wife, Seven, mentioned that a house directly across the street was for sale, I did not hesitate to buy it. From that moment on, John selflessly offered his help in so many ways. He helped me find reliable electricians, plumbers, and contractors, allowing me to renovate an old house quickly without needing to be there in person.
Even when I was away, he kindly helped place my garbage bins and large tree branches outside, saving me from many small but difficult tasks. He warmly opened his home so that I could spend time with neighbors and build meaningful friendships in the community.
We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing. John’s kindness, generosity, and loving heart have left a lasting impact on our lives. He truly lived out the spirit of helping others.
May the Lord comfort Seven and the whole family, and may His peace be with them during this difficult time. John will always be remembered with gratitude, and he will be greatly missed.

I've known John since the 1990s, and he was always kind, gracious, and a true gentleman in every sense. He made a lasting impression, and will be missed dearly. In his memory, I've made a donation to ACR. My thoughts are with you Seven and your son.

John and I starting working together 25 years ago and became instant friends . He was a warm and genuine person. One of a kind and will be missed. It always brought warmth to my heart when he would send me pictures of his son , he was the proudest of fathers.
John. One day we will have that beer together in Red Hook!

John you were a truly unique person, in a very competitive industry, I never met anyone who didn’t like you. The world is truly a little darker without you in it.
God Speed John, tell we see each other again 🙏

I met you and Seven at a mahjong tournament in 2015. Fate had us paired against each other, yet you kept chatting with us in such a lighthearted and humorous way right . I asked if you realised this was a competition? You told me you were actually not very good at mahjong and never expected to win, so you were just here to have fun. Suddenly I understood, I was here to enjoy myself too! At the after dinner, when you saw me give my prize (mahjong set) to an Italian friend, you pretended to be upset and asked, “Am I not your friend? I want the mahjong too!” I grabbed my husband’s set and told him that you were adorable, I would definitely do as you asked!
In the years that followed, we rarely met in person. Most of the time, we kept in touch on Facebook or exchanged warm greetings every Lunar New Year. Until the summer of 2023…
My family and I were traveling in Chengdu and got stuck in a traffic jam. I casually posted a Moments update, then you told me your family was also in Chengdu. OMG! What an incredible coincidence! We arranged to meet for dinner right away and watched a Sichuan face-changing performance together. I knew you loved it, because after you returned to the US, you asked me the videos again to keep as a memento.During the dinner, you left me with a lasting impression as a devoted and loving husband. You and Seven had a disagreement over Kylin’s meal, but you stayed calm, smiled, and listened patiently. In the end, you said, “In this family, Mom is the boss.” I truly admired the love and happiness you shared.
We then went back to our usual way of keeping in touch on Facebook and sending Lunar New Year wishes. Until the day I learned of your passing…
Thank you for teaching me how to be a better person with your sharing. We love you and will always miss you!

I met John many years ago in aviation, he was a sweet kind and funny individual. He would come by our office in Miami and bring donuts for all the employees. And as always a huge smile! Ill never forget, that at Christmas he would bring lunch, which we all looked forward to! John was like a big teddy bear that everyone liked immediately. I'm going to miss you and tell Susan hello for me. She likes apple donuts!!!

Someone who has watched us grow from childhood to adulthood—the photo shows John and Seven at the Zhuhai Airshow after our first meeting in Dali. He invited my aunt and me to Zhuhai to meet up and have fun. Back then, I was a girl who was too shy to speak English, but now I’ve gone from being unable to communicate to speaking freely. John became my mentor on my English journey. Later, he would ask me what industry I worked in and what kind of people I would meet. He would send us regular greetings every year while we were in Guangzhou, which made us feel his sincere kindness toward everyone. Even during the Lunar New Year, we were still discussing how we would meet in China this year—it became our most cherished wish for one another. John has simply stepped out of time, becoming the most primordial molecules and atoms in the universe, reconstructing the things around us. From now on, every ray of sunlight that falls upon us is him. Thank you, and we are grateful for the influence and encouragement you once gave us; everything within sight is a memory; everything in our hearts is the past. We will always love you and miss you!

I'll never forget the 1st time I met John. He was my RA, my sophomore year, his senior yr. He came into our 4 woman "suite" to introduce himself & such & he put a 🥣 bowl, (that happened to be sitting there) on his head! A blue & white bowl that fit on his big ol head, perfectly! & of course, that big goofy grin of his! It was a riot! Cracked me up & I even have it memorialized on film. I'll see if I can find it to share. We were friends from that moment, on. I loved the big man & I'll always remember him smiling & being a goofball. He was definitely one of the best, & I already miss him, just knowing he's not with us anymore. Rest in peace, my friend, my brother. 💔🙏❤️🩹
