Sam's obituary
Sam grew up in the Springfield VA Methodist Church, so, his love and loyalty to God, family and country was steadfast throughout his life. He was proud to have been an Eagle Scout and to be on the VMI football team.
He loved people and helping them consistently over decades. He was a board member of the Leeds Ruritan Club in Hume VA for 18 years. He was a church trustee at Marshall UMC in VA. He was an elections poll worker for 15 years in Delaplane VA.
His love and appreciation of sports, antique cars, animals, farm life and God’s countryside, meant he could converse with everyone he met. His entire life he would call and ‘check’ on people that he knew, not just from his childhood but also from previous jobs long ago. He seemed to ‘know’ everyone in VA.
Sam married Helen D. Howard, his high school sweetheart on March 17, 1973. They were blessed with one daughter Margo C. Bragg, PAC; and one grandson Braxton W. Bragg. Sam leaves this earth proud of all of them.
If Sam could talk to you right now, he would say: “I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I am now speaking with Him and all the saints. I hope that everyone I ever knew, will choose Jesus and join us in Heaven, to continue a joyful conversation that never ends!”
