John Chandler,age 90, passed away peacefully on Jan.8/2026 in Surrey,BC, John lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family,hard work,and cherished pasttimes.John graduated from North Surrey High School in 1954 and began his career shortly after at Alaska Pine,as a courier driver until 1966,when a devastating fire led him to transfer to Griff Building Supplies in Coquitlam, there he was a shipper/receiver until his early retirement in 1991 due to health reasons. Throughout his career he was known for his dedication and reliability. In his retirement years he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He spent much of his time camping with friends across BC and playing cribbage, his favorite card game. These activities brought him great happiness and allowed him to create lasting memories with those close to him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years Delores, their children, Art (Anne), Jeff (Shelly), and Christine, grandchildren, Heidi (Marvin), Luke, Kayla, Graham (Cassidy), and James, great grandchildren, Emmett, Wyatt, and Noah. His brother David (Donna) and family. He was predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Arthur Chandler and his brother William. John's legacy is one of love for family and friends, a strong work ethic, and an appreciation for life's simple joy's. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
