John Jasper Carter Jr, formerly of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully at the age of 53 on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in Albany, Georgia. He was born July 14, 1965 in Richmond, VA to John Sr. and Grace Carter of Concord, NC. He was a 1983 graduate of Henrico High School in Richmond, VA. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was actively involved in church ministries.

John had a beautiful and contagious smile with an outpouring of love and humor. He never met a person that was not impressed by his charisma and witty personality. His presence was always noted by his energetic personality which manifested effortless with his youngest sister, Keshia. Their voices together brought joy to any gathering; the life of the party which will be missed. It was the care he lovingly gave which was the passion he knew.

John is survived by his cherished wife, Carole Ward-Carter; loving parents John Sr. and Grace Carter; two handsome sons, John Carter III of Atlanta, GA and Isaiah Carter of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Keshia Wyche (Charles) of Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra Carter of Charlotte, NC, Clara Alston of Raleigh, NC and one brother Kurt Carter (Lenora) of Richmond, VA; devoted niece, Ashley Drakeford (Timothy) of McDonough, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The memorial service will be held April 27, 2019, 12:00PM at New Life Baptist Church 1281 Biscayne Drive Concord, NC 28027. Tommy Steele, Pastor Officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
