John's obituary

John Miller, 60, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away suddenly on September 24, 2025.

Born on August 30, 1965, in South Carolina, John was raised in Flatwoods, Kentucky—a place that forever shaped his spirit and pride. He carried the heart of the Bluegrass State with him wherever he went, a passion evident in his deep love for Kentucky basketball, bourbon, and horse country.

A proud graduate of the University of Kentucky, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and became a registered pharmacist (RPh) in 1989. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication, compassion, and care for his patients, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand.

John had a quiet but unwavering faith and lived his life as a servant of God. He loved the Lord and showed it through his kindness, humility, and the way he made people feel seen and cared for—while also occasionally teasing them just enough to keep things interesting.

His laugh—full, rich, and impossible to ignore—was one of his most unforgettable traits. It could fill a room, lighten a heavy moment, and usually followed one of his signature jokes, often delivered with a straight face and a twinkle in his eye. If you ever asked him for serious advice, chances are you got a wise answer—with at least one punchline tucked in for good measure.

John’s life was full of heart, humor, faith, and love. Though his time with us ended far too soon, his legacy lives on in every laugh he sparked, every memory shared, and every story that starts with, “You remember when John…”

He is survived by his beloved husband, Trevor Staehely; his devoted mother, Lynn Miller; his brother, Jim Miller; his sister, Mandy (Steve) Bayes; nieces Kelsea (Tyler) Wolfe, Sibley (Dan) Martin, Sarah Miller; nephew Matthew Jones; and countless extended family, in-laws, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, James Miller—as well as his mischievous Corgi, Churchill, and his loyal “snug pug,” Tucker, both of whom no doubt greeted him at the gates with wagging tails and plenty of attitude.
