John's obituary
John Biery, of Waldo, passed away on March 27, 2026, after a courageous 5 month battle with cancer.
John was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud G-Pa. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Biery; his son, Shane Biery; his daughter-in-law, Jessica Biery; and his cherished grandsons.
He is also survived by his stepfather, Dick Garnjobst; his sisters, Dana Garnjobst and Jill Gilmore; his brothers, Clay Garnjobst and Dean Garnjobst; and his sister, Gay Biery-Hamilton.
John was a proud and dedicated employee of the University of Florida, where he spent many years and was deeply valued and respected by those who worked alongside him.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his “fix-it” handyman spirit, and his uplifting Facebook posts that brought a smile to so many. John had a special way of brightening people’s days and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
John was predeceased by his mother, Glee Biery, and his father, John Biery. In recent years, he was able to find his biological family—though his biological mother, Connie Garnjobst, had already passed. We find comfort in knowing they are now reunited, embracing one another in heaven.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Celebration of life will be May 2nd, 2:30pm @ C Bar Ranch in Alachua
